ABOUT US

Live room, Somerton Castle Studio, music recording studio with drums, microphones, and soundproof panels in a rustic wooden room.

OUR STUDIO

Somerton Castle Studio was founded in 2023, with the aim of creating a recording space that felt different to the usual city studios.

Set within the grounds of a historic Lincolnshire castle, the studio was built to offer artists a place to focus, take their time, and make great work in a peaceful, inspiring setting.

Designed around a large live room and a versatile control room, it’s a space that's open, flexible, and easy to settle into — whether you’re recording, writing, mixing, or filming.

THE CASTLE

Somerton Castle dates back to the 13th century and has a long and layered history. Once a royal residence, it’s best known as the place where King John of France was held after his capture at the Battle of Poitiers.

Today, parts of the original castle remain, including the moat and some stone structures.

The studio sits within the castle grounds — surrounded by open fields, big skies, and a peaceful, rural setting that feels a world away from the usual studio environment.
